2005 : Erasers
Anna’s project is loosely based on the game of telephone and focuses on the art of storytelling. The kids were told a very personal story and had to retell it as they understood or remembered it. Each of them ended up approaching it in different, often contrasting ways. The video was shot in beautiful black and white with dramatic lighting on the stage of the Atlantic Theater in New York City.
Erasers was shown at the Bohen Foundation in New York, at the Locarno and Toronto Film Festivals, and at the Guggenheim Museum.
Funding for this project has been provided in part by the Casey Kaplan Gallery, New York. Assistance has been provided by the Atlantic Theater.Anna Gaskell
